Mobile Physical Inventory

Project Summary

The TransTrack Solutions Group needed an app optimized for the MC9300 Zebra device to manage their physical inventory and work orders.

Xamarin Development

Android Development

TransTrack's old inventory application was outdated and was developed in C# using Visual Studio 2008 for
Windows Mobile to be used on the Intermec CK3 scanning device. We created an entirely new application on Visual Studio 2019 using Xamarin and tailored it for the new Zebra device. We also created a new SQL Server interface to be compatible with the local network database and ready to integrate with any cloud products like Azure and Amazon AWS.

Physical Inventory

The physical inventory interface is managed using a the Zebra mobile computer with a built-in scanner. The scanner automates the parts inventory transactions into the database in real-time and organizes the information
into the database in a clean and reliable format.

Optimized for Zebra

The application utilizes the native scanning SDK Data Wedge to input barcode data. The Zebra MC9300 is based on the familiar Android Oreo 8.1 interface. With the Zebra mobile computer, the mobile app is helping TransTrack's operation meet the ever-increasing demands for increased warehouse productivity.

UI Design

The UI design of the app focuses on modernization and sleekness. We took the old 90's UI and created a new interface to match modern mobile app design.

The design's layout was kept similar to the original layout, but was polished up and re-imagined with an updated UI. This allows for minimal disruption and a smoother transition from the old application to the new one.
