PROBLEM
The client needed to push the boundaries of current mobile hardware capabilities. They required a proof-of-concept to determine if off-the-shelf mobile devices could handle complex, real-time computer vision tasks—specifically motion tracking and vertical jump analysis—without the need for expensive external sensors.
SOLUTION
We built an internal comparison app to evaluate object-labeling performance across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud computer vision APIs before committing to a production approach. The app runs the same images through each provider, compares the object labels side by side, tracks response times, and highlights consistency gaps. This made it easy to see where providers differed, what level of accuracy and stability was realistic, and which option could meet business-tool requirements.
We also built a vertical jump measurement prototype that calculates jump height using time between liftoff and landing. We designed the workflow so a user can start a session, capture a jump, and immediately get a result that can be repeated and compared across attempts. The project produced concrete constraints, testing methodology, and implementation direction that can be carried forward into production-grade integrations and AI-powered features inside web apps and internal tools.
