PROBLEM
Despite having a solid core functionality, the app was stuck with a 3.8-star rating. Users were frustrated by outdated UX elements, and the app wasn't effectively capitalizing on its happy user base to drive positive social proof.
SOLUTION
We addressed app quality and user sentiment using a combined maintenance and product strategy approach. First, we identified and fixed in-app issues and UX friction that were driving negative ratings and reducing trust. This improved baseline stability and day-to-day usability.
Then we implemented review prompts that trigger when users are most likely to be satisfied, rather than interrupting at random times. The strategy avoids over-prompting and aligns feedback requests with successful usage moments, improving the likelihood of positive reviews after issues are resolved.
